Windpost - Mason Rite

MasonRite Windposts are engineered to provide vertical lateral support for large panels of brickwork, including panels with openings.

Manufactured in three system types—HD, Cavity, and Standard—these windposts are available in a range of sizes to suit a variety of structural and architectural applications. Each system is supplied as a complete package, including purpose-designed base and head connections, fixings, and the appropriate number of wall ties, ensuring efficient installation and reliable performance.

HD and Cavity Windposts are designed to be installed within the cavity, typically spanning between floor structures while leaving the inner leaf completely undisturbed. Both systems are also available in shorter lengths for parapets or below window openings, allowing flexibility in design and installation without compromising structural integrity.

Standard Windposts, comprising an L-shaped section, are built into the inner leaf of the cavity wall and are suitable for a wide range of loading conditions, providing dependable support for more conventional masonry applications.

How it works

MasonRite Windposts transfer lateral loads from large areas of masonry back to the primary structure, ensuring stability and preventing bowing or movement in tall or expansive walls. The posts span vertically between floor levels and are fixed at the base and head using purpose-designed connections and fixings. Wall ties connect the windpost to the masonry, distributing the loads evenly across the panel while maintaining the integrity of the inner and outer leaf of the wall.

MasonRite Windposts are ideal for supporting large or complex masonry panels in both residential and commercial buildings. They are particularly suited to façades with tall elevations, expansive panels, or openings such as windows and doors where additional lateral restraint is required.

HD Windposts

HD Windposts are designed for installation within the cavity and typically span between floor structures. Their installation leaves the inner leaf completely undisturbed. HD Windposts are also available in shorter lengths for use at parapets or below window openings.

Cavity Windposts

Cavity Windposts are installed within the cavity and normally span between floor structures, providing effective lateral restraint while leaving the inner leaf of the cavity wall totally undisturbed. Shorter lengths are available for parapets or below windows.

Standard Windposts

Standard Windposts are designed to be built into the inner leaf of the cavity wall and typically span between floor structures. Formed from an ‘L’-shaped section, Standard Windposts are suitable for a range of loading conditions and are also available in shorter lengths for parapets or below windows.
